Song blasts past Lady Gaga's 'Poker Face' with cumulative sales of 6.68 million.

<P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/adele/artist.jhtml">Adele</a>'s post-Grammys <a href="/news/articles/1679672/adele-breaks-record-sales-grammy.jhtml">sales surge</a> has brought her yet another record: Her Song and Record of the Year-winning single "Rolling in the Deep" has surpassed Lady Gaga's 2009 hit "Poker Face" to claim the title of best-selling digital song ever by a female artist, according to <a href="http://www.billboard.com/news?utm_source=most_recent#/news/adele-s-rolling-in-the-deep-now-biggest-1006349352.story" target="_blank">Billboard.com</a>. </P><P> </P><P>"Deep" moved an impressive 99,000 downloads for the week ending February 26, per Nielsen SoundScan, pushing its cumulative sales to 6.68 million. "Poker Face" had been the leader among female-sung songs with 6.62 million in sales. </P><P> </P><P>With 7.82 million downloads, the Black Eyed Peas' "I Gotta Feeling" is the all-time digital-download leader. "Deep" now ranks second and "Poker Face" third </P><P> </P><P><center><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:719635/cp~id%3D1675922%26vid%3D719635%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A719635%26instance%3Dmtv" width="460" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="." flashVars=""></embed></center> </P><P> </P><P>The song was the first of three #1 singles from Adele's blockbuster <a href="/news/articles/1679011/grammys-2012-adele-success.jhtml">2011 album <i>21</a>.</i> At the close of the last week's Nielsen SoundScan report, <i>21</i> had shifted 7.65 million units in the U.S., the most of any album since Usher's 2004 album <i>Confessions.</i> Last week, the album enjoyed its 22nd non-consecutive week atop the <i>Billboard</i> albums chart, ranking it at #8 on the all-time list of most weeks spent at #1 (it needs two more frames at the top to surpass Prince and the Revolution's 1984 <a href="http://www.billboard.com/#/news/adele-s-21-longest-running-no-1-album-since-1006310752.story" target="_blank">classic <i>Purple Rain</i></a>). </P><P> </P><P>Following her sweep at the 2012 Grammys, all three singles from <i>21</i> blasted back into the <a href="http://www.billboard.biz/bbbiz/industry/record-labels/katy-perry-s-part-of-me-debuts-atop-action-1006251552.story" target="_blank"><i>Billboard</i></a> top 10 — "Set Fire to the Rain" at #2, "Rolling in the Deep" at #5 and "Someone Like You" at #7 — and sales of the record surged, giving the album its best sales week in its yearlong run on the charts and the biggest <a href="/news/articles/1679672/adele-breaks-record-sales-grammy.jhtml">post-Grammy sales</a> increase in the 21-year history of SoundScan. </P><P> </P><P>The digital sales title is just the latest accolade for "Deep," which ranked as <a href="/news/articles/1675976/adele-rolling-in-the-deep-best-song-2011.jhtml">MTV's Song of the Year for 2011</a>. Last month, Adele's label announced <a href="/news/articles/1679188/adele-rumour-has-it.jhtml">"Rumour Has It"</a> as the next single from <i>21.</i> The song is expected to hit pop, adult pop and adult contemporary radio in mid-March.</p>
